A Blogging Moment

There is no way that I couldn't blog about this. Yesterday was too fantastic to let the story go untold. And so I'll tell you.

Chiefs tennis completely dominated yesterday against Chiawana. The girls needed this win to tie for third in our league. We wanted to prove that we could be strong competitors and that we would not go down without a fight. And we went out there and put our best selves on the court. All heart and all mind. When it was over, not a single person on the team, boys or girls, had lost. We accomplished what we'd set out to do and more. I'm so proud of our team and I'm so proud to be able to call myself a Chief.

Ece

For all of you out there that don't know Ece (pronounced AJ but spelled cooler because it's Turkish), you need to change that. You don't need to stalk her or anything, but if you ever run into her you should definitely take the time to say hello. I'm telling you, Ece is awesome.

So here you go, Ece. This blog is entirely dedicated to you!

Enjoy!

I apologize for the lack of pictures that I have of you. I really thought I had more...

She's the one on the left with the red blanket.

I love our tennis girls! (But especially Ece)

10 things I love about Ece:

1) Her hair. Someday I may secretly cut it off and transplant it onto my own head. I love it that much.
2) She's always my bus buddy for away matches
3) She can always make me laugh, even when I don't feel like laughing.
4) She always has nice things to say about people
5) She's genuinely a good person
6) We both understand claustrophobia
7) She plays tennis like a beast
8) She never gets overly loud.
9) She's dedicated
10) She has a good sense of humor.

Ece, I hope you know how fantastic you are!

This is for you, Marki

This post is dedicated to Marki Koreis, who loves me so much that she begged to be written about in my blog.

The end.

She's the one with her tongue sticking out...

9 things I love about Marki:

1) She makes me laugh
2) She never actually hurts me even though she threatens to
3) She's an awesome tennis player
4) She's loud and crazy
5) I can always count on her to be entertaining
6) Her mom is pretty cool
7) She has pretty eyes
8) She knows how to take a joke
9) She's loveable

I would have thought of 10 things, but in the words of Marki and coach Wrigley, "Not everyone can be like Alyssa."

Totally kidding...but I had to throw that one in there. Inside joke, in case you wondered...or cared...at all.

I LOVE MARKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Little Publicity

It's finally beginning to feel like spring! I'm crossing my fingers that I didn't just jinx our weather for an eternity. All of Moses Lake might hate me by the end of this blog...I'll apologize in advance for any spontaneous rain showers or intense winds.

Life feels pretty good at the moment. I'm loving this tennis season and I'm definitely going to miss my team at the end of it. The next couple weeks are going to be crazy. We have three matches next week, some the week after and then the Inland Empire Tournament in Spokane. I'll let you know if I'm still alive at the end of it.

Some good BYU news: I got into the new Heritage Halls building for the Fall semester and I'll sign up for Summer housing on the 17th. Hopefully I can get into the same room for Summer so I don't have to move. I'm also super excited to meet my roommates! Kelsie, if you read this I hope you know that I'm stoked to meet you in the Fall. I think we're going to be good friends. This next chapter in my life looks promising! Also I signed up for classes for Fall and I think it will be a good semester, even if I'm going to have to study harder than I've ever studied in my life. I might have to say goodbye to my social life for the next four years...

Some exciting book news: I received an email today from my seventh grade English teacher who's been a kind of mentor for me through these years and she said that she wants my work to be acknowledged more publicly. She talked to the head of the school board and they want me to be recognized at a school board meeting for my novel and its publication. I think she said something about presenting me with an award or certificate of some kind. I feel kind of weird about the whole thing but then I figure I'm going to need as many people as possible to know my name by the time my book gets released. I'm not expecting to get famous from this, but the more books I can sell, the better. Also, if you didn't get the memo before, I'm sending an email list to the publishers and they'll keep you updated on everything about my book. If you still want to be on the list you can give me your email address. Does anybody have Ellen Degeneres' email?
